Why a message failed to deliver
Read the reason under a red "Not delivered" message and fix the most common causes.
A failed message shows a red cross and Not delivered, with WhatsApp’s reason underneath. The most common reasons:
| Reason / code | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| 131047 — more than 24 hours since the customer last messaged | The 24-hour window has closed. | Send an approved template. |
| 131026 — message undeliverable | The number isn’t on WhatsApp, was typed wrong or lacks a country code. Very common for numbers that are valid for calls but never installed WhatsApp. | Check the number. Not a fault in Vatli or your template. |
| 131049 — not delivered to maintain healthy ecosystem engagement | Meta limits how many marketing templates one person receives. | Try later. Vatli already holds back recipients who got several marketing messages recently. |
| 131056 — too many messages to the same number | Meta throttles a single business-customer pair. | Wait a few minutes. |
| 131021 — sender and recipient are the same | You messaged your own business number. | Test from a different phone. |
| 132000 / 132001 / 132005 / 132007 / 132012 | Template variables don’t match, wrong language, too long, or a value has newlines or tabs. | See Template sending errors. |
| 190 | The access token expired or was revoked. | Reconnect — see Change or reconnect your number. |
| 131031 | Meta restricted your WhatsApp Business Account. | Check Business Manager → Account Quality. |
