Send buttons and list menus (interactive messages)
Reply with up to 3 tappable buttons or a list of up to 10 options — the customer's tap comes back as their reply.
Who can do this: Owner, Admin, AgentPlan: All plansNeed: An open 24-hour window
Interactive messages let customers answer with a tap instead of typing. They’re perfect for “Which service are you interested in?” or “Pick a time slot”.
Create an interactive message
- In a conversation, click + → Interactive message.
- Choose Reply buttons or a List.
- Fill in the fields and watch the live preview:
| Field | Limit |
|---|---|
| Header (optional) | 60 characters |
| Body — “What the customer reads above the options” | 1,024 characters |
| Footer (optional) | 60 characters |
| Buttons | 1–3 buttons, 20 characters each |
| List button label — the button that opens the list | 20 characters |
| Sections | Up to 10, each with an optional title |
| Rows | Up to 10 in total across all sections. Title 24 characters, description 72 characters |
- Click Send.
What happens when the customer taps
- Their choice arrives in the inbox as a Button reply, showing the option they picked.
- A tap counts as a reply, so it opens a new 24-hour window just like typing would.
- Each option has a hidden reply ID. Tick Show reply IDs (advanced) to edit them — automations and flows use these IDs to decide what happens next (see the Button / List Reply trigger in Automations).
Use the same buttons every day? Save them as a quick reply so agents can send the menu in one click.
